Deep roots, slow fire.
ARGANA is a Moroccan DJ based in Barcelona, with roots in Agadir and Casablanca.
He plays the deeper, more hypnotic end of Afro House and Afrotech: rolling percussion, long tension, grooves that build patiently instead of chasing the drop. North African heritage runs through the sets without being worn as a costume. Moroccan rhythms, Arabic vocal phrases and desert textures appear only where they belong.
He founded ZAYA, an Afro House ritual in Barcelona built around atmosphere, curation and invitation-only rooms. Its first two editions at Hotel El Palace sold out without a single paid ad. ARGANA is its resident.
A filmmaker as well as a DJ, he shoots and cuts his own visual world, and he is now moving into original production so the ARGANA sound can have records of its own.
Why ARGANA. Named after the argan tree of southern Morocco, which stays alive through the dry season with roots that reach deep. Roots, resilience, return.
